LNK COVID-19 Statement

At LNK we have made a number of changes to the way we operate in order to align ourselves with government regulations on how to work safely during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are making sure that we are following the latest Government guidelines in place at the time, and can (and will) adapt our own in-house policies to these if it is required.

Our shift in approach began with stopping one-to-one mentoring in schools in April. We do however plan to resume this programme in 10 schools in Croydon by September, and we have drafted a number of our own regulations to reduce the risk of transmitting the virus. These include having PPE at all our sessions, access to hand sanitiser, enforce social distancing, as well as having an option to move to virtual meetings if necessary.

We have also undertaken all the necessary precautions to launch our summer programme which begun on the 22nd July 2020. For this we are ensuring that all those who attend are registered electronically so they can be contacted if someone does contract the virus. Further precautions include making all young people and staff wear masks or shields while in the unit, enforcing new rules about distancing, cleaning equipment after use (such as PS4 controllers + table tennis bats and using disposable plastic cutlery). We have also limited the number of young people allowed in the unit at one time to 15 – so that all the procedures outlined above can be easily monitored and followed.
